Longtime BH Trustee Elected to Leadership Position
Barbers Hill ISD Trustee Benny May has been elected president of the Gulf Coast Area Association of School Boards (GCAASB) for the 2025-2026 school year, taking office June 1.
The GCAASB represents over 40 Houston-area school boards, focused on enhancing public education through trustee training, networking opportunities, and legislative advocacy.
May has served on the Barbers Hill School Board since 1996, holding various leadership positions including his current role as board president. He previously represented Region 4 on the Texas Association of School Board's Board of Directors and continues to serve on the TASB Energy Cooperative.
"I've been blessed to serve on my local board for three decades and it's truly an honor to serve on this board as well," said May, who credits the BH community, fellow board members, and Dr. Poole for making this opportunity possible.
