The Scoop on The Hill was born in 2024 out of a simple realization: Mont Belvieu needed its own voice. As a suburb of Houston, I found when people asked, "What’s happening this weekend?" or "Where can I find live music?" the answers always pointed to Houston or Baytown. Then a thought occurred to me- ”Hold on a second—what about us?” We’re a growing, thriving community with businesses, restaurants, and events all worth celebrating!

Sure, you could dig through Moms or Dads of Mont Belvieu, browse the City pages, or post in "What’s Going on in Mont Belvieu..." and we encourage you to keep doing that—but who has time every week to do that just to find out what’s going on in our city? Why not just have it all neatly packaged in one spot? And thus, The Scoop was born. It started with just one weekly publication, but now it’s expanded to three newsletters (starting 11/15/24), each designed to be a quick 5-minute read that packs in everything you need to know.
