History Rewind ⚾️
Did you know that Mont Belvieu once had a semi-professional baseball team? The Barbers Hill Gushers were founded in the 1930s. Most of the team was made up of Texas Gulf employees, but their performance improved significantly when the company hired professional and semi-pro players to fill key positions. The team became well-known throughout the area, and the sport was taken very seriously. At one point, the team was managed by P.S. "Buster" Austin and Cotton Russell, and they played in the Texas Minor League. The Gushers even won the Houston Post Semi-Professional title at the peak of their success in 1936.

Community is the foundation of success.
